Recently restored and renovated, Le Gîte du Puits is very homely and comfortable, sleeping up to four people. Located in the grounds of a former Cognac distillery, the gîte adjoins La Ferme and there is an interconnecting door, which is kept locked unless the same party books both properties.


This Charentaise stone building has been beautifully renovated with great care and attention, whilst retaining all its atmosphere and charm.
All the accommodation is conveniently arranged on the ground floor.








The kitchen and dining room
The front door of the gîte leads into the fully fitted kitchen and dining room with tiled floor, original exposed beams and an antique wooden ceiling.







The lounge
The lounge offers plenty of comfortable seating and an ancient stone well feature which is now sealed but is illuminated at night. There are exposed beams and a tiled floor with rugs. One wall in the lounge reveals the original Charentaise stone and there is also a comfortable double sofa-bed.

Full-length French windows deliver plenty of light and open out onto the patio.

The twin bedroom
The main bedroom is furnished with twin beds. The bedroom has exposed beams and one wall features the Charentaise stone. The bathroom has a tiled floor and is equipped with a walk-in shower, hand basin and WC. There is always plenty of hot water.

With the option of full central heating, Le Gîte du Puits is a perfect place to stay at any time of the year.

We have not ventured far from the gite as we have had all we needed here to entertain us. Day trips to Cognac and Martell and Aulnay market were all enjoyable.  Bastille day was FAB, thanks for inviting us to the celebrations. We would love to come back.

Thank you Nick and Chania for making us feel so welcome at La Foye. You have a wonderful set up. After a couple of weeks sightseeing and exploring we spent a relaxing week at the pool, just exactly what we needed.  We really enjoyed the BBQ, it is a great way to get to know your neighbours. Dear Nick and Chania, thank you for an amazing week. We all had a lovely time. Harry (9 yrs) asked whether we could come again next year. The accommodation is faultless, the hospitality from Nick & Chania was absolutely charming and their knowledge was of great interest, especially our chats at the legendry BBQ's which is a great time for everyone to meet..... We arrived to discover that Le Manoir de la Foye is in fact better than the website indicates! Our gîte was very well equipped with absolutely everything you could think you need - even down to the high chair - thank you. The Salle du Jour provides great amusement and information as good as any Office du Tourisme. The grounds and pool area are so well kept that it is a pleasure just to sit and soak it all in.

We came back!! Of Course!  Thank you Nick and Chania for yet another fabulous 2 weeks with you at La Foye. Please can we come back? We enjoyed being here so much, swimming, badminton, Monopoly, ping pong and boules that we didn't have much time for sight seeing this time!! The inter gîte BBQ is a great idea!
